News From The Front

2021.9.1

The Actual Real World In Person Four-Eyed Horsemen Tour starts this Saturday 9/4 in Seattle! There are 31 more shows after that! Will it be safe and sound? We think so! Every venue will require vax (or recent negative test), masks, and human decency. Check with your local venue – exact requirements will vary. Also, practical enforcement for basic human decency is quite challenging so we’re doing that part on the honor system. BE GOOD TO EACH OTHER.

There’s some fancy new tour merch: a giant poster, a dope shirt, a CD of new songs by me & Mega Ran & MC Lars & Schaffer the Darklord. And I’ll have my new d20 shirt and my new d20 vinyl! You want those! Come get ‘em!

Saturday March 27th: The Four-Eyed Horsemen present PATRICKPOCALYPSE. Yes, it’s a dumb-ass theme this month. Here’s a dumb-ass flyer for it!

image

Yep! That’s Mega Ran as Patrick Ewing, MC Lars as Patrick Henry, Schaffer the Darklord as Neil Patrick Harris, and yours truly as, I donno, I donno what kind of Patrick that’s supposed to be, I’m more of a Star Wars guy.

Our special guest for March is E-TURN, who is amazing. And we’re not making her be a Patrick, so I bet she’s in a good mood for her set. Don’t miss it.

The Shacknews Stimulus Games are back in action this Saturday, 3/20. We expect they’ll start in the late afternoon and proceed unto the eveningtimes. twitch.tv/shacknews is where it all happens. Watch me barely hold my own in some fighting games and maybe play Fortnite for the first time ever.

Hey, speaking of video games, did you catch the last NetherRap show? It’s a huge festival-style weekend of concerts that takes place inside of Minecraft (though it’ll be streamed too, if you don’t care to f around in Minecraft all weekend). It’s free, but also it’s a benefit show for the Union Of Musicians And Allied Workers, so you can pitch in if you like. I’m excited to have been invited! Check it out.

2021.2.8

There’s another Four-Eyed Horsemen spectacular streaming supershow lined up for the end of February. This time we are your most fondly remembered teen heartthrobs. Beefy joins as this month’s special guest. Tickets are plentyful!

And if you happened to fill in some answers to the New York Times crossword puzzle on Saturday, perhaps you noticed: the word NERDCORE showed up as the answer to fifty across. Front got that one right, and then stopped working on the puzzle in complete satisfaction.

If you got on board for that d20 Kickstarter, Front offers you the safest, most virtual gigantic hug. The wild success of the endeavor means there will be not only a vinyl, but also a new video, and the whole catalog of instrumentals finally mastered and released. Goals: stretched! Hopes and dreams: comin’ true!

image

So, who’s up to play in the snow this weekend? The Four-Eyed Horsemen are back on their steeds and providing the live nerd raps that keep us all comfy and plauge-free. Join Front, Ran, Lars, Schaffer, and special guest GameboyJones, on Sat 1/30. There are many chilly options in the VIP tickets list: a custom facemask, a secret posse track, your personal song requests, and this new tee for every front row seat:

Our year of miseries is nearly depleted! A new one threatens to dawn. But perhaps it will hold fewer miseries, all told. We must all rely on each other to make it so, while expending diligence in that direction ourselves. Who’s with me?

Also nearly at an end: the Kickstarter for my first-ever vinyl, a 2-disc, 24-track retrospective of my first 20 years of making nerd raps for you.

There are suddenly stretch goals! A properly mastered set of all the songs from all my albums, which you will have a copy of, or perhaps just listen to on the spotifys. And! A fancy new video for whichever song from d20 best deserves to have one (and hasn’t had one before). Plenty to choose from. Let’s see if we can get there.

2020.12.9

Front’s first-ever vinyl, now on Kickstarter! Also, December’s streaming concert is coming at you on Boxing Day! Read on…

Yes indeedy, it’s been twenty years of Nerdcore. Imagine Front as a wee lad of 26, naming the subgenre that still goes strong all these (couple of) decades later. Now imagine that he’s finally putting some of that sweet nerdcore goodness on a double-disc 20th anniversary supercollection. The thing you imagined came true!

image

Front’s kickstarter-ing the whole project right now. It’s going great! It’s funded! But you should jump in anyhow. This is how to get the first printing hot off the presses, or get it signed, along with all kinds of goodies like a shirt (with the amazing Gene Ha artwork you see above) or an enamel pin or a personal song Front will record just for you or just go look, there’s so many incentives.

In other news, December will not escape us without another Four-Eyed Horsemen extravaganza, this one on Boxing Day 12/26. The nerd-rap super-team is making masks for you this time. And you can get some autographed Frontalot CDs, a gigantic old Mt. Nerdcore poster, the MC Lars digital discography, a freestyle from Mega Ran about all the things on your desk, a comic about ya moms. Check it out.
